How do you use your digital camera on this computer. It is so complicated ....i downloaded the photo disk, put my digital camera on the usb cable and it will not recognize it

Hi, Does the camera support Windows XP? Did you read the manual that was
included? Does it require special drivers?

Hi Dee,
There is a little way to go yet. From the Start menu, click on Control
panel/Scanners & Cameras/
Then at the top left, there will be a option to add a new device, click on
this/Then a Wizard should appear to guide you so that your camera and the
p.c. become friends.
When that is finished, next time you plug the cable to the camera, another
Wizard will appear to help you down load the snaps. When the download is
finished, don't just turn off the camera, and pull out the USB cord, look
down at the bottom right of the desktop screen at the taskbar, and with the
cursor of the mouse it will find that there is a 'Safely Remove Hardware'
icon.
Click on this, and select the name of the camera, and wait till the p.c.
breaks the link to the camera.
Sounds complex but it will be second nature before you know it.

Rob.

Chris, you've got this backwards. It is not if the camera supports WinXP, but if XP supports the camera! If it does, all she has to do is plug it in the USB outlet and XP should find new hardware to install and ask her to insert the installation CD.
