Just Installed. Cannot write to old CDs. I need to
get "permission" from administrator. I am the
administrator but do not know how to get permission to
access the CD Drive Disk load with data.
Help! QW

A tip. In a newsgroup that is dedicated to Windows XP please do not use
a generic subject of "Windows XP" - we all KNOW your question is about
Windows XP otherwise you wouldn't be here, would you? Try and put a
short précis of the problem in the subject line such as "Cannot write to
CD" and you should find you get faster replies, as many of the regulars
here ignore posts with subject lines such as yours.

A tip: "short précis" is a pleonasm.

There are "précis" and "p-r-e-c-i-s"! ;-)

Gordon and Wislu are a real hoot aren't they? They both criticize but neither affords any help. Typical. In future my bet is you will ignore any replies from anal retentive individuals like these two. As far as your problem, goes could you please post back with the exact method and program you are using when attempting to write to a CD? There maybe a step or a setup option that you have overlooked. Thankyou. {:~)

And, when/if you do so, the Unknown Paragraph will respond in such a manner
that you need to make an optician's appointment after attempting to decipher
its posts. You see, his handle is most apt - he hasn't a clue what a
paragraph is and, despite being whacked around the cranium several times -
very hard - with a clue-by-four, he persists. We consider him to be a
something of a curiosity - a mutant, if you will, as most people would have
got the message by now.

He also needs to adjust his word/line wrap, but we've resisted telling him
this thus far as we don't have a powerful enough tool and his skull only
appears capable of holding one sentient thought at a time (if that...)

He isn't using a program, you moronic ****wit, that's obvious to the rest of
us, but then the bleedin' obvious never was your strong suit...

He's a yank, Gordon, he won't understand what a 'plonker' is. OFAH didn't
make it to the States.

I meant to add that Gordon's advice was spot - on. He wasn't trying to be
funny. As I have told you before, you need to learn how to use Usenet
properly. I suggest you read the following sites and *LEARN*. Don't you have
a permanent migraine from the number of times you've been hit?!
