recently my hardrive messed up amd I had another one put
in but my windows xp home edition was replace with windows
xp professional edition and now games that I could play I
can't and games that I couldn't play now I can an every
now and then stuff just flickers on screen and produces
multiples of things I haven't even clicked on. Was that a
wise decision or did I mess up things even worse?

Not sure about all that, but as far as security, I was told that Win XP Pro
was the way to go. I have it and I upgraded from Win ME (anything other ME
was an upgrade, even Win 98). There were several programs that I used on a
regular basis, that with Win XP Pro, I could no longer use. What it boiled
down to was getting the upgraded versions of those software, some of the
newer ones I could just upgrade from their websites, the older ones I had to
buy new. I found that there are programs that did the same thing out there
for free that replaced some of the old ones and saved me some $$'s.
I'm still saving up for MS works. Anybody know of an equvilate software out
there as freeware?

Probably didn't help you out, but Good Luck anyways!!

Greetings --

It's awfully hard to say what the issue is from your one run-on,
breathless sentence. Please provide some specific details on exactly
what is happening, and when. I'd also like to suggest that you start
by reposting in standard English, complete with paragraphs, sentences,
capital letters where appropriate, and punctuation. As it is, your
post is quite undecipherable: the words you've used are from the
English language, but are almost completely meaningless as currently
assembled.

Help us help you:
