A pop-up message keeps appearing that states a file designated ndisuio.sys
has been blocked from Internet Explorer. Can anyone suggest a remedy?

I stayed in front of the computer during initial booting and each subsequent
booting. Each time the computer's lights flickered, cd drive, floppy drive
and appears to functioning properly. Howerer, the monitor screen remains dark
(black if you well) with the exception of the small (maybe 4"x2" window)
window "Power Saver Mode" appearing briefly. I can get this message to
reappear, briely, by hiting one of the monitor's adjustments bottons.
I've tried inserting the Windows XP CD and rebooting but the monitor doesn't
change. Still get the same window, "Power Saver Mode". This is the same
result when I attempted to use the recovery disks.
The Computer is a Gateway approximately 4 years old. Windows XP Home Edition.
As to automatic updates, I had the computer unplugged along with all
excessaries while on vacation. Therefore, auto updates could not have
occurred.

Ive been a bit remissed in not thanking you for this and prior responses to
my inquiries. Thanks, jerry

Hi Jerry

Curious as I am with regard to the outcome / resolving your case, I came
across your post in this discussion, wondering if you inadvertently put it
here instead of in the threads regarding Power Saver Mode? If so, I suggest
you post it there as well.

As the content of your post appears being a reply to the other threads, I
started looking in the Gateway WEB site for FAQs regarding the "Power Saver
Mode" and how to get access (or rather lack of such) to the BIOS, which still
is an open question. However is information about the serie - and part number
of your Gateway needed to proceed on this "route".

Regards,
Ka2H
