I purchased a HP PC that came with Windows XP. The PC is
incredibly slow and some software I purchased does not
work with XP (McAfee Quickclean 3.0 for example). I want
to remove XP and install 98. How do I do this? Please
don't blow me off. I will not stay with XP and need to
know what I can do to get rid of XP.

Thanks.

Get a copy of 98 full version or a copy of 95 and 98, get
or make a start up disk. Fdisk the drive and get rid of
all partitions. You can get a disk from Maxtor, or WD or
any hard drive maker you are using and just partition it
from the floppy. Then you can install a clean version of
98. I have had XP for a year or more and felt it was a
pain in the ass for a while but now wouldnt trade it for
any other operating system. Just takes time to get use to.
