I upgraded Microsoft Me with windows XP. After the
upgrade I was unable to locate some of the old files.
Example: Old Win MX files.

I am not very computer savvy.

Can a computer be reset to old settings prior to the
upgrade? Will it make a difference.

If I reinstall Me will it make a difference?

My original reason for installing XP, I was unable to
install Qick Books Pro 2003 because it was unable to
locate Internet Browser 6.1.

Thank you,
Paul W. Fraser

Personally, i wouldn't have recommended an upgrade to XP over Me, 2
different technologies here.. Since you have alredy done that, i would NOT
re-install ME over XP... There may be a way to retrieve those 'lost' files
you speak about, but since the time to do that would have been before you
upgraded, i don't know, tho' someone on here might.. Be patient, someone may
have a solution....
You readily admit to not being computer savvy, so it amazes me that you
would go ahead blindly, but i guess we all have done that at one time or
another... Frankly, if you have a full install disc of Windows XP, (not the
upgrade) I would do a clean install of XP after formatting the HD and
clearing all that crap from Me off the HD. You may have lost those files
from your Me install, but you will have far fewer problems with a clean
install than any upgrade can provide..
