Have an Epox 8K7A mobo with an internal (ATAPI) Zip 100 that writes
extremely slow, timing issue. I know how to fix the problem in W98, but
what do you do to set it up properly in Windows XP? Thanks!

Same here.MSI-6330 mb,same chipset.

In win2k and XP,I found that on install they didn't seem to receognize it as
a zip drive unless a zip disk was in it...mind you win xp seems to have
improved things a bit.Downloaded the Iomega program, but still it loads and
writes SO slowly.

You're not alone.

Yes, as far as I know, the 4 in 1 driver with the miniport next is supposed
to do the trick, but it didn't. Going to try some bios stuff next.

I always set the ATAPI ZIP-100 as NONE in Bios SetUp and Windows 98SE/XP
will find the device anyway.
I never install any Iomega software or drivers.

Mine works okay in Windows XP with an Asus A7V133 motherboard that has
the VIA VT82C686B PCIset.

I'm using a ATAPI ZIP-100 in each of my three desktop computers and
additionally a Parallel ZIP-100 that also works in XP after changing a
parallel port setting.

The ATAPI ZIP-100 with newer firmware had problems in Windows 98SE with
above mentioned PCIset that were cured, my oldest ZIP-100 (july 1997)
with 23.D firmware had no problems at all.
