Hi,

I am trying to setup up Remote Desktop connection between 2 Windows XP
Professional computers. I need to know if there is an option setting that I
can use, so that the computer I am connecting to remotely cannot see what i
am doing on their system. This is important for security issues.

Can anyone help me.

Darryl

By design the remote desktop is not viewable by users on the remote PC when
you login with Remote Desktop from another PC.

You didn't try it yet, eh?
It does that by design.

You can if you have it allowed through your firewall, routed through any
router/NAT box you have and Remote Desktop enabled your Windows XP
Professional (Or Windows Server 2000/2003) computer - and your user that you
want to use has a password.

could you tell me how to set it up the fast way.
you can give me the quick version
i get stuck at adding a person, it says it cant find that user.
thats where im stuck, do i have to use a user on the work computer ?
and does it need a password on that user to work ?

Thanks again.

The computer you are remoting into (the "server") must have an user account
either in the 'remote desktop users' group or in a group ('Administrators'
for example) that is already in the 'remote desktop users' group. You will
be using THAT account when connecting to THAT computer. And yes - that
particular account is ON that computer (can be used to log into that
computer when sitting in front of it usually) and has a password.

Remote Desktop works great over any network - including the Internet.
However, if you are looking to assist (demonstrate/have both parties see
what is happening) then Remote Assistance is what you want to learn about.
That or a third party product such as UltraVNC. All of those things are
made to work over any network - including the Internet.
