Hi,

I have messed up my windows xp and need some help. In the security tab of C
drive of my windows XP, I removed everyone and added only myself (a domain
user) to have full control to my c drive (which is the main drive). It was ok
until I restarted my windows xp. Now my windows xp is not starting. The
windows xp logo appears and then the comptuer restarts. This goes on forever.
I tried to return to the last good knows working version of windows xo, but
it was the same (pc keeps rebooting). Could changing the security
permissions caused this problem?

I tried to repair my windows xp. Unfortunatly, I don't have at the moment
the administrative password.

Could someone help me or suggest a solution.

There is no answer till now???
Anyways,

I found the solution to my problem. I connected my HDD to another PC as a
secondary drive. Then on the properties dialog of my secondary drive, in the
security tab, I added the SYSTEM and administrator user with full control.
Then I connected this HDD back to the original PC and the problem was solved.

The problem as I understood was that I had removed Admin user (Although
there was not SYSTEM user) from my C drive and thus when windows was trying
to start, it could not access the drive. By adding this users, I was able to
start my windows. Why didn't windows warn me that the SYSTEM user or ADMIN
user cannot be removed from the main bootable drive and removing it would
cause windows not to boot???????

I thought of posting a reply in case someone like me comes accross this
problem.
