I have just installed a new cpu, mobo and graphics card. XP is now failing
to load (in any mode)
Is there a workaround for this without having to re-install?

You are SUPPOSED to reformat your harddrive and do a fresh install of
Windows whenever you change the motherboard. OR you end up with nasty
Registry errors from then on.

oh!

ah well, reinsallation it is then

thanks

"Supposed"? Sorry, that's just a theory. Plenty of people have, and
do, with no registry errors. Does this mean the OP can do it? I
don't know, but it's not so necessary as you imply.

Actually, search the net for XP Repair Installation. This will get it back up.

fraid not. Do you think manufacturers actually "install" the OS when
they ship a box out. They just clone it.

MS has lots of guides and info on how to move an operating system.

Welcome to Hell. Here's your copy of Windows.
