My eMachines computer came with windows xp and had a user
already set up on the computer called "perferred
customer". I want to get rid of this user and just use
my usernames. eMachines said to just delete the
preferred customer file in the documents and settings
file, but I can't. I says that windows needs these files
to run properly and wont let me delete them.
Any help would be greatly apreciated.
Thanks,
-Josh

.
Hi, you could just change the name in control panel >
user accounts > change an account

Hi Josh

Go to Control Panel>User Accounts, click on the Account that you want to delete and then 'delete'.

Hi Josh,

Open System in Control Panel. On the User Profiles tab, under Profiles
stored on this computer, click the user profile you want to delete, and then
click Delete.

Note: You must be logged on as an administrator to the local computer to
delete user profiles. To open a Control Panel item, click Start, point to
Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click the appropriate icon.

More information here:

You will need to create another profile to have your specifically named
folders (doc and settings, etc).

Will,
The Preferred Customer user is not listed in the User
Accounts. It was set up as a default user, and isnt
there for some reason. But still, Whenever I restart my
computer it comes up in the user name box of the log in
screen. Any other help would be apreciated.
Thanks again,
-Josh
