Windows XP Upgrade or Full

I currently have Windows ME and it is having issues. I would like to update
it to Windows XP.

What is the difference between the Upgrade version and the full version?

I am thinking of going to Windows XP Home Edition.

The upgrade requires the early edition (qualifying application) in order to
install. So if you have the ME disk you are OK - and you would need to keep
it & not lose it otherwise if needs arise you wont be able to reinstall
(clean install)
A retail edition requires no earlier version

You should in any case check first whether your PC is suitable and whether
any peripherals have winxp drivers
If your PC spec is low its sometimes more cost effective to buy a new PC
And if your issues a hardware ones upgrading wont help
