Youve spent hours downloading all the latest patches via auto-update, over a 56k dial up connection, and then the system dies. You restore via Ghost and then download all the updates again. Before the system dies again you'd like to backup all the downloaded updates....but where are they? Any ideas? thanks Tim

Updates taken by auto-update or the express update feature are installed
automatically and are not available for copying from a file on your machine.
Your best bet is, see the following link for a free copy of SP1a and all
updates till, I think, Oct. 03.

Alternately, find someone with a cable connection and get them to download
updates from Windows catalog for you and burn to CD.

In addition to the free CD's mentioned, you can use Windows Update Catalog
to download free standing install files for the updates. Copy these to
other media (burn to CDs or DVDs). If you do not see the catalog option
under "See Also" in the left hand sidebar of the Windows update page, use
the "Personal Windows Update" link to add it.
