windows xp update

I recently installed windows xp .on completion of the
installation, I installed the internet software and then I
went ot windows update to get any updates and security
patches.I was able to complete three of them, when I
started experiencing problems of various kinds,
culminating with a warning about wormblaster infection.I
immediately went to Symantec.com to remove the virus ,
then I installed the anti virus software...Now each time I
go to the windows update, it starts up "Windows update is
looking for available updates 0 %" Then I get after about
two minutes, "Windows encountered an error..This may be
due to a discrepancy in time settings" I checked these
and they are okk..I also deleted ant temporary files
etc..Still experiencung the same problem..What can I do??

Frank. I had a similar problem.It's the wormblaster
that's messing with you. Go to your updates & select &
download the worm fix. delete all other updates till u
get the problem sorted, then download the rest.
