I have tried to download this update numerous times.
Each time it says it was downloaded sucessfully and each
time I check for new updates it comes up again. How do I
solve this issue?
 
Prevent Windows Update from prompting you to install a Hotfix you know is already installed:

format and reinstall windows this may solve all your other problems
 
Don "reinstall" seems to be your answer for everything. Do you work for Dell
tech support?

For the particular problems (several hundred ) that this guy has the only
solution is a reinstall.
He posts hundreds of messages all under different names.
His machine is totally knackered

I'm relatively new to NGs, so I hope you don't mind if I ask a few
questions:

1) Could there be any truth to his assertion that all the posts he replied
to were from the same peson, or do you think he just thought
(e-mail address removed) was always the same person?

2) I was about to set up my own Message Rule to exclude his posts. Is PLONK
something you're able to do on behalf of us all to exclude troublesome
(non)contributors? He seems to have gone away now.

3) Why do some people not like top posting? I use OE to view and prefer top
posting. Are they using different software?
