Windows XP to NT domain Error

I am getting the following error when I try to connect WinXp to WinNT
Domain:
"[Share] is not accessible you might not have permission etc.....No network
provider accepted the given path."
I know I have permission as this is an existing share I was using before I
installed the Blaster Patch!!
I am using IPX/SPX for file and print sharing.
A windows 98se pc on the same network can access the shares.
Please help - I need to get to these shares, I don't want to downgrade to
Win98, but I might need to.

1. make sure firewall doesn't block the LAN traffic.
2. any errors on event viewer?

Thanks for your reply-
1. I was under the impression that the firewall only blocked TCP/IP traffic
not IPX/SPX?
I did however turn it off.
2. No errors in the event viewer....
