We are no longer able to print. When we try to do so we get an error
message: Cannot communicate with Printer. So far we have deleted the printer
and reinstalled the printer. Downloaded the latest drivers and installed
them. Oh, and we have also checked all the power plugs. Additional errors
that are showing up are DLL F:\WINDOWS\APPPatch\AcGenral.DLL is not a valid
Windows image please check against your installation diskette. Another error
is SCROBJ.EXE DLL F:\windows\system32\vbscript.dll is not a valid Windows
image. The final message we have seen is "Could Not start Script Control" We
would be greatful for any help!

Run a System File Check....... from the command prompt, type

sfc /scannow
(note the space between the c and the /)

Cari it seems that you are exactly correct. Some of our operating system
files need to be reloaded. Our computer came with Windows ME (Thus no
operating system disk) and we upgraded to Windows XP Home Edition. When I use
the XP Disk that we got to do the upgrade, we get an error message saying
that we have the wrong disk. Do you have any suggestions on where we could
get access to files in the DLL CACHE to restore our system? Your help is
greatly appreciated.

The Upgrade CD contains exactly the same files as the Full CD...... it
sounds like you have at some point either added another hard drive or
optical drive so that the original drive letters have changed and the CD
from which you did the original install/upgrade of XP is no longer the same
(in XP's mind) as it was. Is this the case?
