Windows XP Startup Problem

J

Jimmie Noshanks

Greetings Group,

My computer was working fine last night. When I turned it on this morning,
I get the following screens:

1. Windows is starting up.
2. Loading your personal settings.
3. Saving your settings.
4. Logging off.

It then goes through the same recycle of startup and logging off.

I tried system restore to no avail.

I can start in Safe Mode.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I am having the same problem...it started on Sunday. I have tried starting
in safe mode with no luck. A friend suggested to set up bios to boot up from
disc and place the XP reinstall disc in cd-rom. I am not sure if this will
work, but it is worth a try.

Fine. That was just the first step. In troubleshooting, I always try the
easiest fixes first.

Can you get into Safe Mode? Careful now -- you have to be pressing the F8
key at just the right moment to get into Safe Mode.
