Windows XP Start Up

Help!!!! On startup my computer gets as far as the
Windows XP loading screen and a message comes
up "Searching for last known configuration" and just
freezes at that point......Any idea of what is wrong??

Use Windows XP Recovery Console form the WinXP CD.
1 Insert the Windows XP Pro CD-Rom in the CD_Rom Drive.
2 The setup will display a setup notication message scoll though the
message and press Enter Setup displays the Welcome To Setup Screen.
You can use Windows setup to repair or recover your damaged install
3 Press R to repair WinXP Pro install
the Windows XP Recovery Console screen appears
4 Press C to start the Recovery Console.
5 Type 1 and press Enter
6 Type the Administrators password hit Enter
(at the command prompt type HELP for a list of commands.

Lori you made need physical help yo do this process. If I can be of any
other hepl please let me know
you may want to post in Help and Support. Or call Micrsoft for one on one
direction.

Try booting from your XP disk. Put it in your drive and
turn the computer on then click any key when you see
the "boot from CD" option down the bottom. You may need to
get into the recovery console and either fix the boot or
write a new boot record. When you are in the recovery
console type in help and hit enter and a list of commands
will come up. This link will get you to the explanation or
