Windows XP SP2 Problem

I just recently installed the SP2. I realize it has more security; however,
the information bar is not there, so I have no options other than to close
the program I am trying to load. I went to the Windows update to see if
there is anything else I need to download, but it says my computer is up to
date. I will appreciate any help anyone can give. THANKS!
