windows XP sp2 help urgent

i was not able to see hidden files tried folder options but it did not work.
accidently i made all files in c drive hidden after that i had to go to
registry editor and opened
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer\advanced
here i changed the value of hidden to 1 i was able to all hidden files and
made all c drive required files back to read only. after this my system has
gone extremely slow, at startup i get error message as in { last known good
configuration, start windows normally etc}. my computer keeps on searching
for 20 mins before showing its content. very slow startup and stutdown and
keeps hanging

If I get your drift here, you've reset the file attributes so that the OS
will be unable to write to files on C:

In this case it's hardly suprising it's slow, in fact I'm surprised it works
at all.
