I have XP SP2, when shutting down, the floppy spins. I have Norton
Systemworks 2004. Anyone know what causes the floppy to spin?
Thanks in advance,
Bob

Norton AntiVirus, by default, looks for and checks a floppy for a virus on
shutdown. Turn this function off in your AntiVirus options.

Yep, Norton System works will be, although I don’t use symantec
products, at college, if you leave a disk in the drive and you tri to
shutdown/logoff, symanteck antivirus will say there is a disk in the
drive, and you should remove it.

I went to the Symantec site, and they say to start Norton Systemworks,
select options, click Norton Antivirus, Auto protect than Advanced. I don't
see Advanced shown. I have Systemworks Pro 2004, and it might be different.
No disk is in the drive.
