I cannot record my voice on windows xp sound recorder. I
press record- say something- then press play but i only
here a fuzzing sound which is being played. i have
checked all my setting and they are all correct.I have a
laptop and can play cds etc fine. Can somebody help?

Go to the speaker icon by the clock,R.click, open volume control, check the box
microphone, then run in min window so you can adjust the slider.

This is almost certainly your sound card driver (mixer.exe)
Try this -
You should have a "mixer" icon in the bottom left tray
where the clock is.
Click/double click to show the mixer, on-screen, it usually
defaults to "play" view" Open up the "record" view - make
sure the MIKE input box is ticked, and the "Mike Boost"
is enabled (ticked)
Provide you have these settings, should now work. If you
don't have these, then check your sound card mfr site for
driver update.
I had same problem. - except my sound card driver
(mixer.exe.) does not have Mike boost, so cannot get
acceptable voice recording.

Hope this helps, LEN
