I have an ATI Radeon 9800 pro 256mb version and very proud of the performance. However although I have the latest Catalyst 3.8 driver version installed. Ive been having this one problem eversince I setup my pc. In the hardware preferences it says that I have two cards installed which are the same one (Radeon 9800) although I only have one. Is there any downside to this? Anyway to fix it maybe? Your help is greatly appreciated.

You can uninstall both cards and reboot the machine, then hardware detection
should kick off and show you the one card. If it doesnt, you may have
ghosted copies of the card, in which case you can show hidden devices in
device manager and remove all of them, then reinstall the card again.

This is a feature, not a bug.

The 9800 Pro has dual outputs, with separate controllers. One uses the
regular HD15 VGA connector. The other uses the DVI jack.

(I own a 9700 Pro, and ATI supplied a DVI-to-VGA adapter so that I could
use the DVI output with a standard analog monitor. I've never tried it.)

If you check the help files with the drivers, you'll find that you can
operate a pair of monitors as an extended desktop or in clone mode.

Have fun.
