Hello:

I still cannot fix my Windows restart problem.

I'm running WinXP Pro. I don't know what happened and what triggered this,
but now I cannot restart my computer - it always shuts down instead. I've
read a few articles about WinXP shutdown problems, but none of them
discusses this particular issue (there are some cases there when Windows
restart instead of shutdown, but not vice versa).

I would appreciate very much if someone could help me with this.

Thank you,

Thanks.

No error messages, everything goes normal as usual, except that PC shuts
down instead of restart. Just like I hit "Turn Off" button.

Do you see any error messages? How far into startup do you get before it
shuts down?

Thanks.

No, it's too late now. I didn't pay much attention for some time, hoping
that it was a temporary problem.
