Windows XP reload caused data to be lost on slave drive?

I ended up using system recovery cd's to reload Windows XP
along with other software that came on the computer. I
had a slave drive that had backed up data on it. Now that
the Master drive is working, I can't access the slave. It
is recognized by the system, but it tells me the file type
is master boot, which I don't understand.

Any ideas?

If you used partition magic try loading it and see if it recognizes the
problem and correct it. You might also try running disk check to see if
there is a partition table problem.

Are you sure you installed to the correct drive? You may have overwritten
the slave drive and the old master is still there and not booting.
