Windows XP Professional

Hi.
Can anyone help?
I am new to XP havubg previously used all previous
versions up to and including Windows ME.
After, finally, installing Windows XP Professional and
shutting down normally for the past few days, I have run
the programs for the removal of the Blaster Worm,
successfully.
However, since yesterday whenever I shutdown the computer
restarts continuously, I have to physically switch the
computer off as it starts up again.
Any thoughts, help etc., would be most appreciated.
