I lent an older computer to my sister. Her husband put in a password which
would open windows. He has since forgotten his user name and password. I
can not start my computer beyond the welcome screen and the request for the
password. What can I do to get my computer open and get rid of any
passwords?
Can anyone help get my computer open?
Thanks

Simply log in using the built-in Administrator account (which
cannot be deleted) and modify the desired account(s). By design, the
only way to log into the Administrator account of WinXP Home is to
reboot into Safe Mode. For WinXP Pro, pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL twice at
the Welcome Screen will produce the standard login dialog box.
