Yesterday, when I tried to start up my computer, the bios ran, but after that
I had just a cursor on the screen. My first throught was that the hard drive
was fried. However, I used my Windows XP system disk to run recovery
console. Recovery console locates the Windows XP installation on my hard
drive and I can look at the directories on my hard drive. I ran chkdsk on
the hard drive and got a quick message back there were no errors. I then ran
chkdsk with the /p and received a message that I had some errors on the disk,
which isn't unusual. I then ran chkdsk repair, which took quite a while, but
eventually ran. I tried rebooting, but the same thing happened. Help. Does
anyone have any idea what to do?
Thanks.
