In Help & How-to for Windows Vista it tells how to save your home VHS movies
to Windows Movie maker. I want to do the same but I have Windows XP
Professional and Windows Movie Maker, can I do the same in my XP and Movie
Maker as in Vista?

Yes...it's possible to import analog video
into WinXP Movie Maker. Once you have
your source files imported, edited and
saved in a movie format...you will need
DVD Authoring software if you plan to
create DVDs.

Here are links to several Vista and Win XP
Articles that may be useful.

Windows Vista -

If your main goal is to make DVD copies
of your VHS home movies...you don't need
a computer. A DVD Recorder may be worth
a look.

Sorry, but the info found in the articles I posted
for you is the best I have. Maybe your best bet
would be to purchase a DVD Recorder. Some
examples are listred in the following article:

Do you have a digital camcorder? Here's some
good info on that:

Introduction: Why Use a Digital
Camcorder for Analog Video Capture?

dvd recorders don't do a good job in my experience, not much compatibility
with other players.
I'd look at buying a decent analogue - digital converter, something like the
canopus advc range.
simple, plug in red/white/yellow leads from cam, plug firewire lead from
unit to pc and capture using movie maker.
