I've got a small company with 10 Computers connected on a
network. My Fileserver is running Windows XP Professional.
Most of my other computers are also running Windows XP
Professional, which is running perfectly.....until I
expanded my business a little bit. I have now in total 13
computers connected to the network. I recently discovered
that Windows XP Professional is limited to 10
computers....INBOUND CONNECTION LIMITATION !!!

Is there anyway that I can purchase additional client
access software for Windows XP Professional so that the
other computers can also mapped to the File Server which
is running Windows XP Professional ???

IF not can I upgrade to Windows 2003 with all the client
access licenses, without loosing information on my file
server ? Can I just load Windows 2003 over Windows XP
Professional (File Server) without loosing any
information ???

I need good advise, please help me !!

Thanks in advance !

Windows XP Professional was never designed to act as a"File Server".
You cannot exceed the 10 connection inbound limit.
You need to install a product such as Windows Server 2003.
You cannot upgrade from a desktop to a server product you will need to do a
clean install.
