Who can point me out a tutorial to format my hard disk, is it possible to
format without using any extra software than windows, or do i a need to
download a program, to do that.

i read always that i must make a back up of my files, and i do so every
time ,but what if i uninstall windows, does this mean that all my back ups
disappear too, and what is the best way to save them in that case, cd, dvd,
or an external hard disk, i shoul go for an external hard disk, i am having a
lot of troubles with my computer at this moment i hope to get some help

Thanks in advance

A format will erase everything on the hard drive. I am sure you don't
wish to do that. Why not try and explain what reasons made you consider
formatting?

thanks for your reply, i have a couple of reasons...

1) i need to install a new printer, but i am having to much troubles with a
message error when initiating the software, it seems i have a software
conflict or something like that, i do believe this because one of my hobbies
is to download all kind of programs to test them

2) the hard disk of my lap is a small one 40 gb, about 60% already in use,
if i don't do it now any way i have to it soon

3) the big problem i am facing is how to save my data, i have come to the
conclusion that an external hard drive is the best and save option, but any
other suggestions are very welcome

Thanks again

I don't believe you need to format and even if you do you will lose a
lot of stuff you want o keep.

There is nothing to stop you buying and fiting another hard drive, it's
one of the easiest upgrades to do. But what you aught to do first is
run C Cleaner on your computer to purge it.

Afterwards start it up in SafeMode then purge it again then run:
CWShredder
SpyBot
AdAware
then your antivirus on it.

(If you find a lot of stuff that needed removing, you might be best
going over it all again as some other stuff might now be uncovered that
the first scans missed.)

After that, remove all your printer drivers either with the uninstall
tool or with CCleaner.
Then reinstall the printer driver for the machine you want.

There is one more thing that you can do but you may need to get all
your Microsoft Updates again: Repair your OS.

Search the site to find out how this is done. It's quite simple but
this is enough to do for now.

Have fun.
