Hello,

I have a Wireless LAN with four PC's, two of them run Win XP Home and two
run Win XP Pro.
When WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) is enabled, the PC's running Win XP Pro
cannot connect to the WLAN, the PC's with Win XP Home have no problems.
According to the Microsoft Support website, this problem could be caused by
a certain patch
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;821442), but I
don't have that patch on any of the troubled PC's.
What could be wrong? All settings are correct, as far as I know.

Thanks a lot for your help.

I'm not directly familiar with this particular problem, but it would
also be a good idea to check the web site of the manufacturer of the
non-working wireless LAN cards for any updates/patches for XP...or other
advice about how to make them work.

I had this problem after upgrading Home to XP Pro. I
installed SP1A for XP Pro and when the system rebooted,
my wireless LAN reappeared. Give it a try...good luck.
