Windows XP Product ID

I hope someone can help. I had pcanywhere installed on
Windows XP Pro, to make a long story short, I uninstalled
pcanywhere and then later restored back to a point before
pcanywhere was uninstalled. When asked for my password I
find that the computer locks up because I no longer have
pcanywhere installed. I was going to try and do an
inplace upgrade of windows to try and fix it but it
required the product id code which I do not have. I have
the windows xp pro upgrade cd but failed to keep the
product id code. Is there a way to get the code from the
pc or cd or how can I restore forward again if I can't
get into windows? Any help would be appreciated.
