Windows XP Pro Start, Programs Menu

My list of programs in the Start, Programs Menu is
getting quite lengthy, does anyone know how I might
consolidate the list: placing all Microsoft programs in a
heading named Microsoft, placing all office programs
under MS Office, as examples. Previous versions of
Windows have allowed me to drag and drop to do this but
it doesn't seem to work in Windows XP Pro. I would
appreciate any help I can get, I can't even see all the
programs in the list at this point.

Thank you,

Start - Control Panel - Taskbar & Start Menu - Start Menu - Customise - Advanced - Enable Drag n Drop.

R-click "Start" open "explore all users". From there you can create new
folders and drag and drop whatever you want to them.

Thank you so much for your help. I really appreciate
it. At the risk of imposing on your generous nature, I
have another question. I am the only one who uses this
computer and hard disk space is at a premium level. I
have started trying to store all documents, and data
related files, on an external hard drive. Try as I
might, documents are stored in all the usual places plus
the external drive, regardless of what I've tried to
prevent this. There's a "Document" file under "desktop"
and there are: Administrator, All Users, Default Users,
and ofcourse, Louise, under "Documents and Settings". Is
there anything I can do to make all documents go to my
external without harming anything? Thank you so much.

Ignore previous post, meant for another question.

Have you tried dragging My Docs to the drive while holding down the shift key?

You only need to move your own. Even if you are only person the others will still be necessary and take virtually no space. So ignore them.
It's not a complete list, but this is usefull for checking versions and sizes of files (as many viruses have the same name as windows files) . http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...com/servicedesks/fileversion/dllinfo.asp&fp=1

Will try what you have suggested and let you know. Thank
you.
