Sorry for the double post, just now realized that I was in the XP Media
Center Edition forum instead of here......
I am a student in a CIS-245 class based on Win XP. We are using the
Microsoft Windows XP Pro Academic Learning Series book with a trial version
of Win XP Pro and an Encyclopedia CD. Each student has a removable drive with
the Trial version installed on the drive. The class is on Chapter 8 which
deals with NTFS permissions. Some of the Labs in the Labbook require you to
go to the Security tab, some people don't have this and the issue was
resolved by clearing the Use Simple File Sharing check box in the View tab.
The next problem is that a few of the students only see the Everyone group on
the Security tab when they create a file or folder whereas most of the other
students see the following: Administrator, Administrators, CREATOR OWNER,
SYSTEM and Users.
I was requested to see if I could find out why those few students are only
seeing the Everyone group listed and not the complete list like most of the
Students are seeing. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks!
