Windows XP pro repair

I lost the 'Help & Support' facility, so I did a repair/reinstall on Windows
XP Pro which cured that problem, but I now have another problem. I tried to
download and install SP3, but get the following Error during the 'checking
Configuration' process 'the file C:/windows/system32/ntdll.dll is open or
in use by another application'

Can anyone help, please.

Start by going to MS and reading the article on preparing to install
SP3.

You can find this info the same way I do--use a search engine such as
google.com In this case I used for the search criteria: preparing for
upgrade xp sp3 microsoft
