Hi Everyone,
I have a strange problem with my home network. I have two WinXP
machines, one a desktop and the other a laptop. They are linked via a
simple adhoc wireless network, and the desktop machine shares my
internet connection.
The ICS side of things is fine, I am writing this on the laptop. The
problem is with the file sharing side of things.
Both machines are setup with one administrator account, both using the
same name and password. I want to share the entire contents of each C
drive to each other, accessable only by this username.
This I have accomplished when connecting from the desktop to the
laptop. But I cannot manage to connect to the desktop at all from the
laptop. All I get is a logon screen asking for my username and
password. I enter the correct username and password, press OK but
nothing happens. I don't get a message claiming that my password is
incorrect or anything, the logon screen disappears but then reappears
again instantly. Is there a setting that I have missed by accident or
does anyone else have any similar experience?
Thanks in advance,
Ian
