windows xp pro - log on problems after putting in password logs of

Hi I am running an IBMlaptop with Windows XP Pro (business machine). Battery
died on me and now when put my user name and pw in - it begins to start then
quickly goes to saving my settings, loggoing off and I am back tothe
control/alt/delete screen
Any advice greatly appreciated ! I dont know the admin password so need to
be careful

Is this *not* your machine - but a 'company' machine?

Does it do the same thing in safe mode?

For any other user accounts?
