I downloaded a couple of files from the internet (a word file and a windows
media audio one).

Right clicking on the downloaded file and selecting Properties showed in the
General tab the following text:
"This file comes from another Pc. To help computer protection it might have
been been locked" and it shows the Unlock button.
Does anyone know what it is and what will happen if I unlock it? I tried to
unlock it but could not go back locking it again.

It happened the same with a .pdf file I received by e-mail (after saving it
to the hard disk).

I guess it is related to Windows security but I was unable to find any
information about it.
I wish I knew what it is, what it does and how to handle it.
My os is Windows xp SP2.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Stefano

It's documented here:

Well, I do not know how to thank you...
I searched throughout the Microsoft's support site over and over but was
unable to find any information.
I guess I was using the wrong keywords :-)
At last I know what it is!
Although I am a little bit confused on .pdf files...are they potentially
dangerous?

Thanks,
Stefano
