Windows XP Pro Internet Problems

Mike

I just installed a fresh copy of Windows XP PRO on my new
computer. After installing the Network Drivers, and
setting up the network, I find myself unable to connect
to the internet.

I'm using a TRENDNet Switch, which is connecting the
cable modem and the three computers I have in the room,
two of them are Windows XP Home computers and have no
problems browsing the network or connecting to the
internet. The XP Pro has no problems browing the network
but cannot connect to the internet.

Is the XP Pro box a DHCP client? Does it have the correct default gateway
listed? Can it ping the default gateway?
