Windows XP Pro English Student Media CD SP2

November 2004 release.

I just graduated from Technical School in Electronics tech.
We all had the chance to get on a great deal to get the OS I titled in this
topic, unfortunatly I don't know if it is a very great deal after all as it
may not udgrade on my Main Desktop PC which is running Win home upgrade for
Win 98se edition. This OS that I got Winxp pro upgrade ESM sp2 will it
upgrade a win home upgrade or will I have to purchase a full license??

I wonder if this 'CD' is just a CD distribution of Service Pack 2.

Did this come with printed material? If so, does it describe what this is?
What is the full title (verbatim) on this CD?

If it says "Microsoft Windows XP Professional Edition Upgrade with SP2", then it is the XP o.s. upgrade, and that would upgrade the Home edition to PRO.
 
P.S. You can always view the contents of the CD by: placing CD in CD-drive, and using Windows Explorer to view it. There is usually a Readme file, which you should review.

I am pretty confident that your version of XP Pro will perform an upgrade
just fine.
The general limitation of the Student versions of MS software is that you
cannot perform an upgrade *on* that software. This is because MS believes
that, say, by the time you want to upgrade to Longhorn, you will be earning
a good income, and should therefore purchase a full version, not an upgrade
version.
Does this make sense?
