Hi,

My HDD with Windows XP Pro died on me. Boot sector failure.
My problem is that I'm unable to access the Documents and Settings folder
when placing the hard drive into my other computer. (To retrieve my data,
before I take the dead HDD in to the supplier for replacement.)
The "Make Files Private" option has been set on my Administrator User
account.

My second PC has exactly the same user and password, but I'm unable to
access the Documents and Settings folder from the boot-failed HDD.

Is there a way I can recover my Documents and Settings?

Regards,
Riaan

Take Ownership of that folder. See:
