Hi folks,
recently my computer had several crashes. I use a Toshiba Satellite Pro 6100
running Windows XP Professional SP2:
http://oca.microsoft.com/en/response.aspx?SGD=0a294c2a-bec2-4db7-8a2c-f302d03a5a38&SID=10

The operating system closed inadvertedly and after an automatic reboot the
checkDisk was launched.
It's not the first time I have to deal with such a problem. I'm worried
about my computer data.

Could you give me some advice to solve this issue? What kind of problem is
related to this strange behaviour?
Thanks in advance for your kindly reply.

There is a link to diagnosing in the page link you posted, and for any
further help the stop # is required
Why are you worried about data, you have backups dont you?

Do you mean error code information?
The OS turned off so fastly that I didn't have the time to look at the
informations on the screen.

Yes I did, I'm used to do it but not so frequently as I must do.

Thanks a lot for the help.

Amend your startup/recovery options so the sys doesnt reboot on error
The blue screen will have the stop error #
Since it is running check disk you might want to visist your hd manu site
and download/create/run the hd diagnostics

We need the complete information from the STOP error. Open Control
Panel - System - Advanced and click on the Settings button in the
Startup and Recovery (bottom) section. In the Startup and Recovery
window click on the checkbox for "Automatically restart" to clear it.
Click on Apply and OK as needed to exit.

Good luck
