I've run my Linksys router and wireless card for years
under Windows 2000 with no problems. Ever since going to
Windows XP, I've have terrible problems with
connectivity. The Wireless Zero Configuration is a great
idea, but I've got several symptoms which won't go away.
1. The network connection notification icon in the
system tray can show that I'm disconnected when I'm
actually connected. If I open it and ask to "Connect" it
still doesn't change status. It stops me from seeing
wireless status.
2. My connection will drop and later reconnect without
warning for no apparent reason. When the connection
drops, I cannot see any available networks in the network
status area even though the router is working fine with
my other connected desktop.
Any idea? Thank you in advance.
