I receintly had to replace my motherboard in my PC because of a hardware
failure. My system disk is OK but my old mobo was Intel based and my new one
is AMD. I followed the proceedures from Microsofts site on hardware
replacements but it didn't work. I also have another proceedure using
Shit-F10 and delete certain drivers because my video card is also different.
The Problem I'm having is I'm stuck in upgrade mode .... the PC Blue Screens
upon reboot. I Believe I have to call Microsoft for a special product key
because my PC is now a new PC but not ...

Any advice ??

Thanks in advance

Dale G.

For a motherboard replacement you need to do a Repair Install of
Windows XP as per the instructions at
http://michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.html

A Repair Install will preserve your installed applications, user data
files, and configuration settings. Windows Updates will have to be
reinstalled.

Good luck
