Most likely b/c Microsoft doesnt want to support it. you would have a
really bad time trying to run XP with less than 64MB of RAM.

I was looking at the Microsoft knowledge base today and discovered a

real, or an error?

Under the references, look at item 282401.

Running XP on a computer with 64 mb of RAM gives an entirely new
definition to the meaning of the word *slow*. I saw this on a Compaq
with an 800 mhz CPU and it was a pitiful sight indeed.

I cannot imagine anyone with enough spare time on their hands to even
contemplate running XP with anything less than 64 mb. It would
probably take at least a minute (full 60 seconds) for the computer to
respond to each single mouse click or keystroke.
