Windows XP Offline Folder Synchronisation Problems...

I'm getting the following error when synchronizing Offline Files from
a Windows XP SP1 client...

"Offline Files (\\mydomainname\mydfsrootname on mydomainname): Unable
to merge offline changes on "\\mydomainname\mydfsrootname." Windows
cannot find the network path. Verify that the network path is correct
and the destination computer is not busy or turned off. If Windows
still cannot find the network path, contact your network
administrator.

The error seems to be intermittent, sometimes I have no problems at
all... I've already tried resetting my CSC (KB230738), reselecting
Offline Content etc...

Has anybody seen this error message before or know whether a Pre-SP2
HotFix addresses the problem? I'm unable to find any reference to this
specific error, though...

.... there are several references to similar errors but none that
provide an effective solution to the above problem...

Is the laptop a domain member? There are connectivity issues with
connecting to a domain dfs root if you aren't a domain member (I am
still trying to workaround this limitation and haven't seemed to
figure it out yet)

Yep. It's a domain member running Windows XP SP1 talking to a domain
based DFS root hosted by a Windows 2000 SP3 server... I've read
previously, though nothing definitively or consistently, that there
are/were? issues with Windows XP clients accessing domain based DFS
roots. I don't seem to have problems with access specifically but I do
have problems when referencing offline (using CSC)…

It's really any other reference to the previously discussed error
message that I'm looking for…
