i got a 7500 w/ tv-out and it shows the screens prior to windows being
loaded.

but the second that windows loads the screen goes black and monitor goes
into power save mode.

it did work the first few times but then windows didn't show the card name
on the display properties dialog, only in the device manager.

anyone had that problem and know how to solve it?

Did you install the ATI cvontrol Pnal applet? That gives you tabs in display
settings for multiple displays and clone options.

still does not show windows when:
Rebooting in Safemoe (w/ command prompt or w/ networking)
Rebooting in debug mode
Rebooting in "enable VGA" mode

when windows did display (once or twice before it stoped) in the display
properties. it would call it up as "(default monitor) on "
[not listing the graphics card]
also, on the advanced button i tried to change the monitor refrsh rate but
it only said "monitor default"
also, did not display ati panel in the advanced button on the display
settings.

simutaniosly, when it did display windows it would give an error stating
that the ati control panel isn't going to work because you don't have a
compatible ati graphics card installed.

then after that it doesn't display windows.

any other suggestions?

so your seeing post screen.....so its definetly a driver thing...was this an upgrade from another card?

i've been using piece of shit tnt2 m64 since i got my computer 3 years ago.

i got radeon 7500 for 50$ from local computer store.

i think the refrsh idea is good idea. i'll try and put it to 60Hz then put
inthe 7500

following comment on when card did display: also, when i pluged in s-video
cable to TV it flickers
really
bad on TV and its only on black and white

(however was viewable on computer monitor)

You need to get the control panel installed properly before you can get the
TV out to work right. Try downloading the latest drivers and matching
control panel for your card from www.ati.com. Uninstall everything that's on
there now and boot back into standard VGA. Then run the driver executeable,
reboot, and run the control panel executable. At that point you should be
able to go into display properties, settings, advanced and find a displays
tab where you can use the clone settings and enable or disable the TV-out.

thanks for the suggestions skid.

i hurd to installed it backwards. do the ati control panel before you
install the drivers.

doesn't make sence to me but if it works.

Think about it. You tried to install the control panel and it said it
wouldn't work because no ATI card was detected. That's because you hadn't
installed the ATI drivers first.

The display works on your TV until Windows boots, so you know the hardware
is working. It bungs up in Windows because the control panel isn't telling
the card to clone the display to the TV.

Once you get it working, you'll find out it's logical.
