windows xp missing programs

I had to reboot my computer because of trojan horse, when it was rebooting a message poped up but Io not remeber what it said, except that it was an error. My computer is working, however I am missing progrmas like excel and word. When I put in the small business cd in it installs but when I try the home edition nothing happens. I have tried add progams from control panel and nothing, I have also tried chaning the start up so that it reads from the cd drive and nothing. Can anyone help me?
 
I assume by reboot you meant reinstall.
word and excell are not part of winxp, they are part of the Office family,
presumably contained within yr Office SB disk - if you installed with this
the apps should be there, under Program Files if nothing else.
